The Not So Fun Task of Shaving

The annoying time consuming art of hair removal haunts us weekly. The razor bumps, in grown hairs, dry skin and razor burn leave the task less than desirable. So to make it at least a little less painful here are a few tips.

1. Exfoliate

Scrub the to be shaved area with a sugar scrub or a good exfoliating sponge and some body wash. It will create less of a chance for in grown hairs to appear and your skin will be smoother and softer.

2. Don't use shaving cream.

Yes I just said that. Put down the shaving cream and use baby oil gel instead. It creates a slicker surface for your razor to glide on and less chance for razor burn. Just make sure you rinse your razor every swipe because the baby oil can gunk up your blades.

3. Make shaving the last thing you do in the shower.

The steam and hot water from your shower will actually soften the hairs and make them easier to remove. Plus you won't go as long between shaving and tip number four.

4. Moisturize as soon as you get out of the shower.

Lotion up with whatever lotion, body butter or body oil you prefer using as soon as you step out of the shower. If you moisturize your skin while its still wet your lotion will lock in the moisture better in your skin making it more smooth, soft and glowing.

5. Change out your razor frequently.

Make sure you are changing out your razor often. I prefer to change mine out every or every other shaving session. It keeps your blades sharp instead of dull which can cause major razor burn and a not so close shave.

I hope these little tips help make your not so pleasant task a more tolerable one! Stay amazing my wonderful readers!
